Becoming a Member of Christ Church

If you are interested in becoming a member of the parish, please speak with the Vicar about orientation classes that are scheduled twice yearly. Holy Communion is open to all baptized Christians who are admitted to Communion in their own church. To formally join the church, it is an easy process of transfer (from another Episcopal or Anglican Church), reception (from the Roman Catholic Church or an Orthodox Church) or by baptism and/or confirmation. Please ring the church office on 718-624-0083 for more information,

Pastoral Care

The clergy are available for pastoral care and visits to home or hospital. If you know someone who is ill or in hospital, or you wish make an appointment to speak with one of the clergy staff, please ring 718-624-0083

Baptism

Baptisms are regularly scheduled four times each year, in early January, at Easter (March/April), at Pentecost (May/June) and All Saints’ Sunday (early November). Parents must attend church services regularly and they, together with the Godparents, must participate in a series of instructional and orientation. All baptisms must be arranged in advance with the Vicar. Please ring the church office on 718-624-0083 for more information.

Marriage

All arrangements for Marriage at Christ Church must be made through the Vicar. The decision to conduct a marriage rests with the Vicar and the Bishop. Generally, a marriage must be arranged at least four months in advance, and where there is a divorce involved, six months. The couple is expected to attend church services regularly and attend a series of counseling and instruction classes. Please ring the church office on 718-624-0083 for more information.
